Six Foot Track – The New and Exciting Style Walk
Having long struggled for suitable sites and space at the Cox River campground during busy periods, we have decided to offer the best solution possible for our walking clients. Even a busy long-weekend offers no problems for advanced bookings. Why share your camping?
After a morning arrival at Katoomba for the commencement of the 3 day walk, you will follow a scenic route along the clifftops, before descending through Nellie’s Glen and into the Megalong Valley, which is the first leg of the Six Foot Track. From the main valley road, it’s a brief trek across country to access our private campsite. Tents are already erected in anticipation of your arrival. With plenty of firewood available, shelter if its wet, an eco-toilet and tables & chairs for more than 20, relax for the rest of the afternoon. For international guests, it is an excellent opportunity to see kangaroos and wallabies in the wild.
An easy start to your walk on day two will have you crossing the swing bridge over the Cox River mid-morning, and relaxing by the Little River for lunch in the early afternoon. Ascending the Black Range, your support vehicle will meet you along the trail and transfer you to your overnight cabin accommodation on top of the ranges.
Day three allows you to re-commence your walk from any point along the Six Foot Track, with ample time to reach Jenolan Caves and enjoy a guided cave tour prior to your return to Katoomba late in the day.
